I love MJ beanz and so does my son! The folks here are always helpful and welcoming to me when I walk into the store. They have the latest products and are current with the trends. They go above and beyond when I am looking for a specific product. Transactions are smooth and they even gift wrap (beautifully) for you.

I cannot recommend MJ Beanz in Plainview enough! My experience there was nothing short of amazing. The staff went above and beyond to make our visit special, especially for my autistic son. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting. One of the employees immediately greeted us with a genuine smile and offered assistance. My son has specific interests and can sometimes feel overwhelmed in busy places, but the staff was so understanding and patient. They took the time to listen to his needs and even showed him toys that matched his interests without rushing him or us. What truly touched me was their kindness and attentiveness. When my son became a bit overstimulated, a team member calmly and warmly engaged with him, helping him feel safe and comfortable. Their genuine care and empathy were evident in every interaction. This wasn’t just a shopping trip—it was an experience where my son felt seen and valued, and for that, I’m incredibly grateful. MJ Beanz has earned a loyal customer, and I can’t wait to return. Been a loyal customer for years and always pop-in for birthday gifts. My son was home from school today and we stopped in to grab some legos as a snow day activity. Staff went above and beyond to help my 4 year old son pick out his special toy and then even gave him an extra toy that had damaged packaging as an added treat. It made his day and reminded me why we shop locally. Thanks MJ Beanz!

Wow if I could leave ZERO stars I would have… after reading Deanna’s review I will never shop there! Absolutely disgusting customer service. In order to contribute to a “worthy” cause businesses should only be generous to their own personal nonprofits or to customers who spend a certain dollar amount in the stores. I live in Port Washington and I already made it a point to tell my friends and Family and community about this experience. Back to Funky 🙈🙊🙉 we go… EDIT RESPONSE TO OWNER: proud to be Deanna’s friend- the only BULLY here is YOU. You should have a posted policy that you will only donate to non profits of current customers.

I never like to bash businesses but I am very disgusted about what happened to me today at MJ Beanz in Plainview, and I feel the need to share it. I went into the store to ask for a donation for our school’s annual fundraiser. I was told the owner was not present, but the staff would relay the message and give her the school forms that I left for her. About 30 minutes later, a staff member called me and said the owner would not give a donation because the School is not close enough to the store, even though we are located only 15 minutes away. I explained that we are a PRIVATE CATHOLIC school with students from all over and certainly have families that live very close by. Still no. She then proceeded to tell me that the owner looked my name up in their computer system and noticed that I had not purchased anything from them since 2022, and that was the real reason they were not donating. WOW. DISGUSTING. Apparently the owner of this store will hold it against you if you do not spend the amount of money she thinks you should spend in her OVERPRICED store. Big mistake. I will be spreading the word about this overrated, overpriced store and it’s greedy, self serving owner. Responding to owners response: What is “unbecoming” is you not welcoming an old customer back with open arms, but instead, deciding to be spiteful and hold it against them for not shopping in your store for two years. Maybe there are reasons for that- Maybe they moved, maybe they were ill, Maybe their child outgrew toys ,maybe They had to prioritize their spending in this horrible economy and did not feel the need to spend $30 on a jar of slime. I’m sure none of these reasons entered into your Selfish, narcissistic mind. I came into your store with good intentions-Asking for a small donation to support a local Elementary school which in turn, would benefit you by bringing new customers into your store. According to you that makes me a “bully” which is so laughable to anyone that knows me. Your immaturity is astounding and based on other reviews of you and your staff on here, I see that I am not alone in my view of your business.
