This is the first time that I have ever been inside BAM. They have a small coffee shop, although I did not look into what they were offering. It was quite early in the morning, and I was amazed at how many individuals were patronizing the bookstore, as we were. The bookstore reminded me a bit of a Barnes and Nobles and a Hastings, with a sprinkle of Borders as well. I did not look at all the activities that they offered, as I was fixated on all the other "eye candy" in front of me. My ten-year-old son enjoyed BAM because it had magnets, LiteBrite, a Spiral Graph, Hello Kitty, Minecraft, D&D, Marvel etc.. They had so many games, stuffed animals, journals, and diaries, They had everything from bookmarks to Biblical Concordances. I likely spent two hours simply getting to know the store. My son left with the Spirograph and an icosahedron ( a twenty-sided pink die that was enormous). I ended up purchasing two junior-level books for my twelve and ten-year-old. The two books are published by Penguin Workshop, which is an official WHOHQ ( Who? What? Where? Headquarters for History ). They offer numerous non-fiction books and I purchased DaVinci and Mother Teresa. They are priced at $5.99 each, although, BAM was offering one at regular price, with the second one being fifty percent off. Upon checkout, I met either a manager or an owner, named Anne. I even allowed her to sell me a one-year membership because she was so decent and polite, that I was not going to say, "No!" They have a very large parking lot, located next to a Big Lots that seems to be out of business. This is a great store, and it truly has everything that one could ever look for!

Book shopping is suppose to be relaxing and fun and it is until it’s time to check out. The last few times I came here I get to same older woman who initially was very cranky towards me in those encounters. That has lightened up recently but the last 3-4 times I have come here now with her instead of just checking out and leaving she will drag me around the entire store to look at other stuff. I just want to check out and leave. I don’t mind small talk. But no, I do not want to trek around the literal entire store and be told about everything every.single.time I come to shop. I do not decline because I know this woman can become rude and I don’t want to deal with it. This is likely my last time coming to this store. I would rather drive to the Lancaster Barnes and noble or order on Amazon.

Wonderful book store, and the staff was very helpful. I wish they had a computer terminal I could use to find books and authors so I didn't have to interrupt the staff, or wait in line multiple times just to see if they have a specific title

Books-A-Million is a paradise for book lovers and more! Every visit feels like an adventure with their incredible selection of books, journals, and toddler-friendly reading materials. Whether you’re searching for the latest bestseller, a beautifully designed journal, or a fun board book for your little one, they have it all. Manga fans and pop culture enthusiasts will also love their vast collection of graphic novels, collectibles, and unique merchandise—it’s a treasure trove of goodies! The highlight for me is Joe Muggs Coffee inside the store. Their coffee is absolutely fantastic—smooth, flavorful, and always the perfect pick-me-up for a long browse through the aisles. There’s nothing like sipping on a warm latte while flipping through a new book or relaxing in their cozy seating area. Books-A-Million combines a love for reading with a welcoming atmosphere, great coffee, and a little something for everyone. It’s the kind of place you can spend hours in and leave feeling inspired and happy.

I come to this location because it is one of the few locations in York because I know that a specific manga series will be delivered to. I normally have a good experience here. Today, Jaden had helped me find the book i was looking for(he was extremely kind and helpful. He helped me mud task while he was grabbing other online orders. I noticed this because of the invoice he was holding) I had grabbed my two copies of this book; one for myself, and one for my roommate as I normally do. I proceeded to the counter to ask Ann, The cashier if it would be all right if I were to put these books on hold until Friday so that I may pick them up then. She said this should not be a problem. When she returned with the slip to Put my books on hold she started talking to me about the membership. At first, I entertained as I thought “ You know what? I come here enough that a membership might be fine” I had interrupted her and said “ Let me make it easier for you and just give you my email address” She stopped me and said well let me tell you about it because there is a fee. At that point, I was disinterested as I did not want to pay a fee. I responded to her and said “okay Then, no.” Ann Looked at me, disgusted, threw up her hand and let out a scoff. I was immediately put off by this but thought, “okay, whatever. I’ll just put these on hold no big deal” She did not drop the Interaction. She actually made things 10 times worse than they had to be By giving me a nasty attitude And stated “ You know what really bugs me? When people won’t even bother to listen. I’m putting this on hold for you so I’m going to tell you about the membership” I was in shock. I told her, “ If you’re going to tell me what bugs you, I will tell you what bugs me. It’s when people don’t understand the concept of no” I was disgusted by her attitude, demeanor, and show of Embarrassing child behavior Coming from a grown woman well into the later years of her life. I decided to take my business elsewhere, but not before calling the manager on duty to express my disgust. This is not the kind of employee that should be working at this establishment. Ann, the elder Caucasian woman, needs to learn respect, boundaries and what it means to be told “no.” I will think twice before continuing to give this location my business if she is still working here.
